Que(r)er, second edition: when a film opens a conversation
Que(r)er, second edition: when a film opens a conversation
22 July 2026

Some films don't tell a story: they start a conversation. That's where Que(r)er comes from, a project that brings together cinema, social research and community action to look head-on at the reality of the LGTBIQ+ community in the Balearic Islands.

Every Thursday in August and September, at CineCiutat, a film with LGTBIQ+ themes or authorship. And we never leave it there: each session opens with an introduction and a discussion, and comes with a survey before and after, because we want to understand what a film stirs inside us, how it changes what we know and what we feel.

All of this work will be gathered in a public report, a real foundation for future policies against LGTBI-phobia.

The programme:

  • 06/08 Brokeback Mountain — Introduced by Juanjo Bermúdez. Tickets here.
  • 13/08 Las líneas discontinuas — Introduced by Joan Porcel. Tickets here.
  • 20/08 Sangre en los labios — Introduced by the group FADES. Tickets here.
  • 27/08 Este cuerpo mío — Introduced by Ben Amics. Tickets here.
  • 03/09 Matthias & Maxime — Introduced by Lau Esteva. Tickets here.
  • 10/09 La doncella — Introduced by Clara Calvo, Pau Gelabert and Andreu Plaza. Tickets here.
  • 17/09 Sidosa — Introduced by ALAS. Tickets here.
  • 24/09 La llamada — Introduced by Armi. Tickets here.

A safe space, open to everyone, to see and recognise ourselves in the cinema. Eight Thursdays, eight conversations that begin here and carry on outside.

Que(r)er is made possible thanks to the Conselleria de Famílies i Afers Socials of the Govern de les Illes Balears, the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Palma, and all the organisations, individuals and collaborators who have made it happen.
