Volume 2 of Absolute Cinema kicks off, that little pleasure where revisiting classics is almost an act of poetic justice: looking again at what we thought we knew, but this time in 4K.

-“E.T.” — December 5 at 7 p.m.

-“The Goonies” — December 12 at 7 p.m.; December 13 at 11 a.m. (morning screening) and 5 p.m.; December 14 at 5 p.m.

-“Mad Max: Fury Road” — December 19 at 7 p.m.

And then comes December 30th, which, as you know, is an important date at CineCiutat ever since that strange year of 2020, when we decided we didn't want to end the year apart. It made sense to say goodbye to it together, with a film chosen by you, a slightly cinephile New Year's Eve countdown, and the certainty that building community also involves things like this.

The celebration, as always, will be free. We'll be operating on a pay-what-you-want basis: anyone who wants to can make a voluntary contribution. We'll provide the 12 grapes—which is practically a gesture of mutual trust—and we'll be raffling off a year's membership at CineCiutat among all those who come.

Until December 21st at 11:59 pm, you can vote for the three films you'd most like to see on the 30th. We'll announce the winner on the 23rd.
