In a forest clearing, Beaver, who is a very vain little animal, inaugurates his great masterpiece: a dam. With the help of two rats, he blocks the course of a stream, which causes the water level to rise, flooding the forest and quickly forming a huge lake. Beaver is very proud of his creation, but he is disappointed because no one is around to admire his masterpiece. Meanwhile, in the forest, Fox and Hare throw a party with their friends: Cresta, Pingu, Jack, Seal, Mermaid, and Owl. After the party, Owl returns to his tree to do his night watch shift as he does every night, and he notices that the tree is surrounded by trickles of water. He gets scared and ventures deep, very deep into the forest. Until he sees a huge lake that wasn't there before. He is so astonished that he faints and, as the water level keeps rising, he floats into the lake all the way to the dam. A very strange creature he has never seen before welcomes him. It's Beaver, who is delighted that Owl has come to his lodge. Finally, someone can admire him! The next morning, Fox and Hare realize that Owl has disappeared. They search for him with their friends, but suddenly, they discover an unfamiliar lake. Where did all this water come from? They deduce that Owl must be somewhere in this vast expanse of water. During the search for Owl, the water level keeps rising, putting the forest and their homes in danger. Beaver has to demolish the dam to save the forest, but is he willing to do it? In exchange for what?
