Cinema has the power to move us, shock us, entertain us, and, why not, escape us from reality. But above all, cinema has the ability to represent us, to put into images our story, our life, our way of being and feeling. Cinema often puts words and images to our feelings and desires.
Every Thursday in August and September, CineCiutat will host a series of screenings with an LGBTQ+ perspective: diverse, courageous, and necessary stories.
Each session will also be a safe meeting space, with presentations, discussions, and participatory dynamics that seek to generate community and collective reflection.
This cinematic journey will go beyond the screen. Through surveys before and after each screening, we will collect the traces these stories leave on those who experience them from their seats. With the collaboration of organizations such as Mostra OUT!, ARMI, DraBingo, the Gender Identity Consultation at Son Espases Hospital, and friends like Charli Bujosa, Elitxo Garayalde, Juanjo Bermúdez, and Cati Moyà, this trace will be transformed into knowledge: a public report that can guide future equality policies and strategies against LGBTQ+phobia.
