Between his dreams of adventure and a tender gaze for his parents, young François transitions from childhood to adulthood. In the early 1950s, in the family garden by the River Marne, Pierre begins construction of a replica of the Spray, the legendary boat with which Joshua Slocum completed his solo circumnavigation of the world, becoming famous in 1895. Joining him on this adventure are his wife, Geneviève, and his son, François, who has just turned 11 and is passionate about the project and the figure of Slocum, a symbol of freedom.
