In 1993, the late Jean-Claude Lauzon released a work destined to become a cult classic through the most dreamlike surrealism. Now, Acontracorriente Films is re-releasing a new digital master in our country so we can enjoy Lauzon's lyricism on the big screenThe semi-autobiographical film tells the story of Léolo, a boy living in a humble Montreal neighborhood, trapped in a harsh existence. Every night he tries to escape by indulging in his disordered memories, dreams, and overflowing imagination. He is haunted by an Italian neighbor, and reality often interferes with his dream world, mainly due to his bizarre family. His father is obsessed with the health of everyone in the house, his brother is a bodybuilder who lives in fear, he also has two sisters who suffer from mental disorders, a grandfather to whom no one pays much attention, and an enormous mother who dominates the family microcosm.
