One of the things we love most at CineCiutat is seeing projects emerge. Small, sensitive, brave, and beautiful projects. The kind that are made with a few hands, many hearts, and a lot of desire. 'El amante de la luna' is one of those projects: a short fiction film written and directed by Mallorcan Laura Casasnovas, which tells a story about unexpected encounters, meaningful silences, and conversations that can change everything when they arrive at the right moment.
The project is now in pre-production, with the team working flat out so that filming can take place by the end of 2025. But, as is often the case with independent cinema, moving forward requires a united spirit. And that's where you come in.
At CineCiutat, we are thrilled to share and support this project, which also showcases a lesser-seen Palma, with an authorial perspective, European sensitivity, and a 100% local team. We can't help but see a parallel in it with our own story: a local story with a universal appeal.
Its crowdfunding campaign is already underway, and any contribution, no matter how small, is a huge step toward making this short film a reality.
If you love films made with care and from the heart, we think you'll love it as much as we do.
